The Experience

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of gliding through the sky in a paraglider. Imagine yourself comfortably seated, hundreds of metres above the ground, fully immersed in the scenery and the thrill. As you soar, watch deer moving along the mountainsides and hawks flying nearby. With expert guidance from your pilot, you’ll glide within metres of the stunning Twin Waterfalls, experiencing nature from a perspective few get to see.

Our Mountain

Our flights take off from Pub Corner, 1,100 metres above sea level, on the way to Treble Cone Ski Field. With a launch point 800 metres above the valley, this is the highest summer tandem flight in New Zealand. You’ll soar over breathtaking landscapes, including Lake Wanaka, Roys Peak, and the Matukituki Valley, all the way to Mt. Aspiring National Park. It’s rated as one of the most spectacular flying sites in New Zealand – and for good reason!

Since 1990, safety has been our top priority. We carefully monitor local weather conditions and operate with a significant safety margin, never pushing limits. Wanaka Paragliding is fully certified with the Civil Aviation Authority as a 115 Operation, following strict regulations to maintain the highest standards. Essentially, we run like a small airline, with stringent safety processes in place to ensure both our customers and crew enjoy a secure experience at Treble Cone.
